End Game Quilt-a new pattern by Jemima Flendt of Tied with a Ribbon
Happy 2019 friends!!
Let me re-introduce myself since it’s been a while…cough cough…I’m Angela a spicy little red head who LOVES to quilt. This is my little piece of the internet where I share my projects and hair-brained ideas. I’d love to say that I blog every week but clearly that would be a lie. I will say that I making plans and setting goals to be more present here.
Moving on…today I have the pleasure of sharing an adorable mini quilt that I tested the pattern for prior to it’s release.
This is the End Game Quilt by Jemima Flendt at Tied with a Ribbon
Today (01/04/2019) is the pattern release and I highly encourage you to snap this one up!! It’s such a great pattern and can be used with yardage, scraps or even precuts, which is what I did this time.
I used a charm pack of Swell Christmas by Urban Chiks for Moda Fabrics. I had a hard time locating the same precut charm pack online but I did see a bunch of yardage in several shops on Etsy. You can really use any line or combo of scraps that you’d like. Here are some other fun Christmas theme ideas if you’d like to plan ahead for next year.
I would chose a primary focus fabric and then adding supporting prints and solids to coordinate. I ended up buying a small amount of yardage for larger triangle in the top right and backing and binding.
I used Kona Solids for the green and red that you see in my mini quilt.
I wanted to show you a couple close up photos of the machine quilting and binding.
I switched thread colors throughout the quilt depending on which triangle I was working in. You can get a better idea by looking at the back. Because it was a mini quilt that will always be hung on the wall I opted to back stitch and the start and end of each quilting line rather than bury threads. There was a LOT of quilting and burying threads would’ve taken more time that I wanted to spend.
I realize Christmas has come and gone this year but check out Jemima’s solid color or Tula Pink versions on her blog and Instagram feed. You can grab the pattern by going to her website End Game Quilt pattern
I’d love to see your version when you have a chance to finish this amazing quilt!! Make sure to share it on IG and tag Jemima and myself so we can both see 🙂
Hopefully we’ll chat again soon…
