Maple Leaf Quilt Block
Happy Tuesday Friends.
Wait…hold the phone. Yes I’m posting on a Tuesday which is highly unusual 🙂 I wanted to pop in and share some photos of my completed Maple Leaf Quilt Blocks. Fat Quarter Shop is hosting another great series called Classic and Vintage. They are re-doing some classic blocks in fun new ways.
I was lucky enough to be a part of the fun and really wanted something that felt modern and classic. I had this great Lori Holt Autumn Love text print that a quilty BFF gave me and I thought it would make a perfect background.
Next I grabbed some Cotton + Steel Basics Dottie in Tangerine and used that as my jumping off point.
I also had a really fun Patrick Lose orange print in my stash that worked well with the C+S.
Patrick Lose Speckle in Apricot
This was as close as I could find online. It really matches the C+S tangerine well. Sometimes uploading the images changes the color a bit.
Anyway, the other prints are all from my stash. I believe the little arrows are an Art Gallery print but I’d already cut the selvedge off so I can’t be sure.
This is such a quick and easy block and some day I would love to make a fall themed throw quilt with leaves in multiple colors. For now I plan on turning these into pot holders to use this time of year.
Make sure you stop by Fat Quarter Shop’s blog The Jolly Jabber to see what other quilty bloggers did with this super cute block.
We’ll chat again soon.
