5 Simple Phone Photography Tips
Hello hello!!
Popping in super quick today with something just a little bit different. Don’t get me wrong I love my usual 5 Things Friday but those posts take a really long time and sometimes I just need to get things done and wrapped up a little more quickly. Today is one of those days so you’re getting something a bit new 🙂
So…you may or may not know this already but I am a professional photographer and have owned my own business for 16+ years. I have worked with all different types of clients and styles of photography but now in my career I focus quite a bit of energy on commercial photography. I still photograph families, groups, seniors etc but I don’t actively market for that right now. I work mostly with existing clients and their referrals.
Anyway, I gave a presentation this last Tuesday to a bunch of other business owners in a networking group that I belong to. I focused my presentation on simple tips to elevate your phone photography. It has been said that the best camera is the one you have with you. In this day and age I would have to say that I 100% agree. Of course I get much better quality photos from my big DSLR and you should NEVER use cell phone photos on your website, business card, in your marketing materials etc. However, for the that great snapshot of your daughter playing on the monkey bars DEFINITELY use your phone rather than miss the opportunity for the shot. Let’s be honest and say that we all have our phones with us 90% of the time so grab it and use that camera to get those in the moment images. Also if you are interested in printing your photos I would stick to smaller snapshot sizes if you are using images from your phone. 5″ x 7″ and smaller should be just fine.
So having said all of that I thought I would share the handout I created for my presentation. In the interest of keeping this brief I won’t go into the details of each tip like I did during my talk but you can easily click on the image and read the descriptions. Photography is definitely one of my passions so please please let me know if you need any help or clarification on the tips. Just comment here or use the contact me box and I would be happy to get back to you.
So friends that’s it for today. Hopefully you have some fun plans this weekend. My hubby and I have a date with the boxes in the basement 😉
