5 Things Friday…
Hey there! Betcha ya’ll thought I forgot about my fun 5 Things Friday idea didn’t ya? Well I didn’t and so here I am popping back in with 5 fun things for your Friday reading pleasure.
#1 is my absolute new favorite thing…Thoughts of Dog I heard about this great Twitter feed narrated by a hilarious pup but since I don’t do the whole Twitter thing I thought I was missing out. Well WRONG. He’s on Instagram friends and he’s a hilarious little break in my day. I try to keep my social media consumption to a minimum and have intentionally curated my feed to be filled with only happy uplifting sites and Thoughts of Dog is a favorite. Check it out if you have a minute.
#2 Better Than Takeout Fried Cauliflower “Rice”
Better Thank Takeout Fried Cauliflower I “created” this healthy recipe myself and thought I would share it with anyone who might like to try it. I’ve mentioned before that I’m a bit of a health nut and really watch what I eat and feed my family. This meal is one that everyone loves and many times they come back for seconds. In fact most of the time I don’t even tell my kids it’s not “real” rice 🙂
For the next couple of days Craftsy is having a great sale on some of their online classes. I’ve taken Free Motion Quilting a Sampler with Leah Day and Help! How do I Quilt It? with Angela Walters and loved them both! I am also looking at The New Embroidery, Simple Geometry, Beautiful Stitches with Natalie Chanin and The School of Making as well as Artisan Bread Making with Peter Reinhart. I think several of the classes offered in the sale would be great and at this price why not grab a couple of them.
By now my “hippy-dippy” nature (as my hubby likes to call it) has shown through enough that when I tell you I’m a HUGE essential oil user you shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve been using high quality essential oils for years but have always refused the MLM trap. I do NOT buy from any company that is part of a Multi-Level Marketing plan and never will (think Do’Terra or Young Living etc). Enter Cure Oils. The owner Tammy Myers is a friend of mine and her oils are the only ones I use. She is a certified Aromatherapist and sources the therapeutic grade oils herself. Meaning she knows exactly where each oil is from and has done extensive Gas Chromatography and Spectrometry (GC/MS) testing. Any oil you get from Cure Oils is the highest quality available on the market and at incredibly reasonable prices. Check them out and tell her Angela Coleman sent you 🙂 Cure Oils Essential Oils
(fyi I get nothing from telling you about the oils other than the satisfaction of mentioning a friends company and sharing my passion for essential oils with you)
#5 Glue Basted Binding Tutorial I’ve shared this with you before but it’s worth mentioning again. I have been cranking out custom memory quilts left and right lately and glue basting the binding is the only way to go for me. It saves so much time and headache and I use this method exclusively. Give it a shot and let me know what you think.
Well friends here you go. 5 fun Things for this Friday. If you get a chance to make the fried “rice” I’d love to know what you think.
